funding & grants

We support applications which will enhance liveability, bolster social cohesion and support local amenity in our regional, rural and remote communities

If you are considering applying for funding, we encourage you to talk to us about how we can assist you.

We can work with you to ensure you are connected to the relevant regional stakeholders and that your proposal will contribute to long term economic growth and is a priority for our region. We can also provide you with economic impact modelling (from our DataAU) and if appropriate a letter of support.

Growing regions program - Now Open

The Australian Government has committed $600 million over three years, commencing in 2023-24 for the Growing Regions Program to provide funding for capital works projects that will enhance liveability, bolster social cohesion and support local amenity in regional, rural and remote communities across Australia. Round 2 will provide $393 million to fund eligible capital works projects across rural and regional Australia.

Round 2 opened for applications on 5 September 2024 and will close 10 October 2024.

Regional precincts and partnerships program

The Australian Government’s $400 million regional Precincts and Partnerships Program (rPPP) is now open for applications.

The rPPP seeks to support transformative investment in regional, rural and remote Australia based on the principles of unifying regional places, growing economies and serving communities. The rPPP focuses on a partnership approach, bringing together governments and communities to deliver regional precincts that are tailored to local needs and have a shared vision for how that precinct connects to the region.

The rPPP is an always open funding opportunity supporting both precinct development proposals and the delivery of construction-ready precinct projects.
